A little update regarding closing or selling the site.
Wow! What a night last night. Thanks so much to my official leader, MacGruber for tipping me off to tickets, and thanks to Pete Stanton for hooking us up with awesome seats. Front and center on the upper balcony. We were shocked when we sat down. Not to mention there was a microphone staring us in the face 3 rows down. “John in Plano” got a few shoutouts.
The stars of the show, from left to right, starting on the back row:
- Norm Hitzges, Corby Davidson, Bob Sturm, Dan McDowell & Donovan Lewis
- Mike Rhyner, George Dunham, Craig Miller & Gordon Keith
The host of the show was channel 8’s Gary Cowgill. He was pretty good. I especially enjoyed when he had his video camera out right in Gordon’s face while Gordo was telling a story. I think Gordo has brought out the “funny” in a lot of the channel 8 news people, fyi.
I wish we would have had more memory on our camera to record the whole show, but something tells me they probably wouldn’t have appreciated me broadcasting it out to everyone. I did, however, get about the first 8 minutes of the show that I’ll post as soon as I get it ready. Overall, the show was worth every penny. If you’re a fan of the show and the funny stories, you would have loved it. It was non-stop laughter, even when they told us Norm killed some woman in a car accident, although they were cheering for the hot receptionist on stage.
By far, the best story was about George and Jerry Jones partying it up in New Orleans, which is the story of how Ja supposedly got the voice of Texas Stadium gig. After I go through the book, I’ll fill everyone in on this story. Supposedly it’s in there.

That was such a blast. The seats were great…the drinks were great…the stories were great. I think we laughed for two hours straight.
Going back and listening to this, I wish the video of the night was available somehow.
