The Hardline started a segment last week by admiring the natural beauty of Texas during their drive down to San Antonio. They then sveltly segued into the Josh Abbott band’s song, “My Texas”, and proceeded to crap all over its lyrics. I’m sure Jub-Jub was punching the dashboard in his truck while fighting back tears listening to this.
It’s sad you diss everything about Texas in your rant. I know why I don’t listen to you guys! vomit of the mouth would be more appealing

This segment, in a nutshell, is why I’m really starting to hate the Hardline. I remained loyal to them during the Greggo bullshit and defended Corby to friends who said he was ruining the show. But this ignorant rant and Corby’s self-important whining about TC’s prank has really soured me on those guys.

So their opinion is a “ignorant rant”? They are right, this song is the doucheist generic crap that artist put out simply to pander/force field the listening community. It’s stupid, it has no real meaning, and it’s not even original. How are they ignorant, because they don’t like some stupid song that is nothing but putting a bunch of the overrated things about our great state together and trying to tell us that this is Texas. You sir could be the ignorant one. If you’re starting to, as you say “hate the Hardline” then you might want to flip on the Houston sports stations which can’t hold a candle to the Ticket at any timeslot.
I’m so glad somebody finally agrees with me about how FUCKING HORRIBLE this “music”is!!!! I play folk/rock in the Austin area and I’m ready to get the hell out because these guys are hogging oxygen down here! Abbot said once, “I’m the guy that musicians don’t like. I never listened to Bob Dylan, I listened to Pat Green.” << No shit right?
I’m not gonna lie. I think that this song is not that country crap like some shit that’s been on the radio. The whole les paul thing bugged me the most. That guitar in the solo is definitely a tele, which is a country guitar for sure. Josh Abbott Band is great! The Hardline can lick it!
