Today the Musers were having a bit of a 15th year anniversary walk down memory lane. Junior started the segment with a rant that he compared to Ed Carter:
Once that was done, they talked about some of their favorite funny moments that came to mind. Each person stated their favorites:
After a segment of commercials, the 8:40 segment featured what the Musers coined as their absolute favorite, classic bit…SPARE WARS
“One troll in particular” love it!
Thanks for posting all of the retrospective audio. I miss a lot of it (and all of it today, gdammnit) due to work so this is really cool.
I want to hear the Bigfoot bit. I’ve only heard it when they did it on the air the first time, and what I think was around the 10th anniversary when they found the rare audio.
The Musers vamping at their very best.
@greaseleg – I asked Grubes to zip up the enco and email it to me. 🙂 (jokingly, of course)
We’ve been getting request after request for old bits. I do my best to get them, but i’m at the mercy of it being online somewhere or someone from the ticket sending a copy.
Was the “one troll in particular” a direct shot a Whitt? I’m not in the DFW area anymore and only catch bits and pieces of whats going on with the little ticket. Seemed like Whitt was on good terms with the station, did the “Hard Lie” and other stuff on his blog cause it to change?
@colon – not sure on the troll comment. Put a question mark over my head too. I can tell you that most of the hosts have a bit of anger/frustration towards Whitt after his Hard Lie post. Probably because it wasn’t painted so one sided as their own stories were. The way I viewed it was, The Ticket had this huge opportunity to tell the stories as through their own eyes. Greggo had nothing, except for the Hard Lie story. If Greggo would have gone on and denied everything, it would be one thing, but he admitted to lying and being a douche to his “co-workers”. Let’s be honest, I don’t think the word “friends” really ever came into play.
Think about it…other than lying to the guys about things Greggo did to “HIMSELF”, what did he do to ever really ruin what were supposed to be these wonderful friendships? The guy slipped off the deep end into addiction and since none of the other guys had ever had to experience someone with addiction before, they felt the only way to help their ‘friend’, was to get rid of him. Where I come from, you don’t get rid of a friend unless that friend has done something that completely crossed the line of friendships. Not that I’m saying the other hosts did anything wrong, I’m just making the point that the other hosts were “NOT” true friends to Greggo. They were merely work friends. Rhyner talks in the book how he hopes one day they can be friendly towards one another again, but that he isn’t sure because he’s really pissed still. “FOR WHAT!!!!” You got him kicked off the airways. What else is he possibly doing to make you pissed now?
It’s a sticky situation and it would be nice to know some of these guys that claim to be Greggo’s true friends from the station can at least check in on Greggo to make sure he still has his head on straight.
Man what the hell am I talking about? This isn’t what you asked for, is it.
