MMA Talk with the Musers

It’s kind of cool listening to people I think of as well educated sports guys, then realizing I know more about them of a well known, popular sport. I was actually very shocked to hear how little these guys knew about the sport and how close minded they are about the sport. Being a fan since the old days when there were no rules, I understand how the sport has always been up against the majority of those who don’t watch or get it.

MMA is as barbaric of a sport as football, boxing or any other full contact sport. There’s so much more involved than just beating blood or bones out of the other opponent. I could go into more detail but the point of this is how our “sports talk guys” are showing their weaknesses of being open to other sports. What happens if 2 or 3 of our major sports fail one day and they can’t talk about them anymore? Maybe it’s the old man syndrome shining through. Even beyond that, it’s even more shocking that Gordo is the one that is interested and not the “sportsy” guys of the show.

I’m here to tell you that MMA is the fastest growing sport today and it is not going away. It’s only going to continue growing and it will eventually be one of the most watched sports in the entire world. I wouldn’t be surprised if more people watch MMA fighting across the world than people watch American Football. And before you snap at that comment, remember, MMA is worldwide….American Football is mainly in America.
