A little update regarding closing or selling the site.
Poop Shoot
Some of you guys may remember the recent Greggo project with John Clay Wolfe, where Greggo was basically given a new show to build and Wolfe did all he could to make it work. In the end, Greggo & John didn’t workout, but now John has started a new show on 1190AM here in the metroplex (1230AM up in the Wichita Falls area) called “The Daily Nooner” which airs from 12pm to 1pm CST. I’ve been told that the Hammer might make random drop ins during the show, as well.
Why does this matter? I just heard that John Clay Wolfe & Mike Turley (Turley an ex-BaD Radio guy) have spoken to Bacsik about jumping on their show today where they plan to discuss the whole story. Evidently Bacsik is pretty upset how it all went down and he might call in to tell his side of the story. Nothing set in stone, but it might be a game time decision.
If you don’t have access to an AM radio, you can stream “The Daily Nooner” from your computer. Just follow the “listen live” button. **Update** Finally got the stream .. Go here and click the “listen live” button top left of menu options.

I’ll definitely be tuning in and hope Bacsik gets to tell his side.

Strong work! Was a little shocked to see his tweets, but didn’t think it was a fireable offense. Definitely needed to be addressed via some punishment, but firing was over the top, especially since it didn’t even happen over the airwaves.
I liked having Bascik on the station because of his baseball insight. This is a sad day.
yeah, it is a bit shocking. you can tell in the other show hosts that they are on his side, but have to be PC about the decision.
oh yeah… how many 2nd chances did the Hammer get? I sure hope this doesn’t calm the station down at all. It’s like the Janet Jackson boob incident that changed everything for radio and TV. Such knee-jerk reactions

In today’s world, you just can’t say ANYTHING racial. Our country has become so soft, it’s embarrassing. What he tweeted was careless and wrong and I figured they would have to fire him, since he does on air stuff. If he was behind the scenes, it wouldn’t have come to this. With the large amount of Hispanics in the metroplex, the Ticket and Cumulus didn’t want this to get legs and turn into a bigger deal than it already was.
I’m on it, good strongs. Might take me a while to put it up, but if there’s anything of value, it’ll get posted. When I tuned in, they were talking about exactly why Jenna Jameson needs to take oxycontin. Wish me luck.
Someone needs to call in and explain the “dirty Mexicans” thing. I assumed Mike was doing Ticket Shtick and had Jub’s “I hear the Mexicans are kind of dirty” drop in mind. He shouldn’t have tweeted it either way, but still, if that’s what happened he certainly doesn’t deserve to be fricasseed.
No way will they bring him back.
Anyone else having a hard time tuning into 1190? I finally got them on stream but missed the first 20 minutes. Thanks to whoever gave us the shoutout!! Guess Bacsik chose to not go on the air about the situation.
I gave the shout out. He talked to Mike and his agent advised him not to go on air. Let things cool off a bit. Nip Nip.

I didn’t hear the show, but I did hear a bit of what I gathered was Pugg from Puggs and Kelly?
They had Richard Hunter on, and man was he scorched Earth
He was throwing the Ticket, the management, the hosts, the listeners, and any fans under the bus
He talked about the hypocrisy of the station. Sounded like sour grapes from a failed Late-nite host
i think it’s important that everyone remembers and spreads the word that The Ticket had nothing to do with his firing. It was the Cumulus office in Atlanta because they freaked when they saw the story on CNN. The Ticket planned on bringing Bacsik back in 2 weeks.
Crane is correct, as Gordon mentioned this on the air this morning. This was the Cumulus Atlanta offices who pulled the trigger on this. Which I’m not sure I agree with, because how great of a grasp do they have on the station? This seems like it would have been an issue better suited for the local Dallas management.
It sucks that this is what happened to Mike. Yes he did put Cumulus in this spot. Still dont think he should have been fired. I’m mad at The Cumulus suits not Mr. Bennett or Mr. Catlin.
Man, I would have loved to hear that…hope a podcast of it is up.

Who is the guy that sounds like Mr. Mackey mmmmkay? He is quite obnoxious and condescending to his co-hosts. Me thinks I will not look for his radio show in the future.

Sorting through it now…there’s an unticket shoutout in it as well, but man is it ever “stream-of-consciousness” radio.
I caught their show today, wow…the south of the border talk was the creme. Said they are going to have both Cheech and Chong in studio with them for fridays nooner, and to help them write a current version of Mexican americans song to have C&C sing in studio. This will either be a trainwreck, or gold
