A little update regarding closing or selling the site.
This season has been really tough to watch the Mavs. Especially towards the mid-season, right before the trade for Kidd. The Mavs would give up so early in games it was just like watching your kid in a bare knuckles match and just dropping his hands and letting someone punch him in the face over and over.
Since the Mavs traded for Kidd, the Mavs have beaten a plus .500 team ONE TIME! The Warriors folded to the Mavs the other night, which was a mental war won, but that doesn’t really mean much in the whole playoff race. Tonight they were owning the Lakers for 3 quarters and then the 4th, they just started falling apart, like the old Mavs.
What else angers me, and maybe it’s just because the Mavs suck, is the officiating. I know you might thing that I’m a Mavs fan and I don’t like the officiating because of Cuban. But that’s not it. The problem I have occurs in every NBA game I watch. The officiating is so horrible that even the crowds of tens of thousands see obvious no calls. And I’m not talking about no calls for the home team, I’m talking about obvious walks, obvious fouls and situations where the official has a personal agenda.
Take for example when Tim Duncan was ejected because he smiled at an official. He did nothing to warrant being ejected, other than smile at the ref for freaking out on him, but the official did it. The same official would not even call a tap dance walk into a basket or a shot changing foul. It just doesn’t make sense to me why some games the officials call a hundred fouls and some games they ‘let them play’. Why wouldn’t all refs ‘let them play’? Flagrant fouls should be called and flagrant walks should be called, the rest of the petty shit, shove the whistle up your corn hole and let the players play.
So in summary, the Mavericks suck and the NBA officials suck.
**UPDATE**
Mavs beat the Suns today. Why do they play with our sports emotions like this?
“GO MAVS! I’m Doyle King“
pretty gutsy 4th period against phoenix yesterday. 99% of me assumes the mavs will get blown out in the first playoff series, but there is that 1% that is holding out hope for something miraculous.
