Our little Ticket lost one today. This morning Dave and Danny announced their plans to end the show. Last episode will be next Saturday outside the AAC for a P1 sendoff. Personally I’ve always considered the Orphanage to be my favorite show on the Ticket and for years it alone has given me reason to get up on Saturdays. Hard to tell if they quit or were fired, but cross talk with the Teebox and Cirque will return for their last dieing request. No funeral.
I completely agree with you, the Orphanage is (was) my favorite show on the Ticket. Though not an Orphanage-P1, I have been listening to their shenanigans since 2008. Farewell Danny and Gen-X-Davie . . . . you will be missed.
My Saturday mornings just got a little sadder . . .
Thats today’s sad story… On Sports Radio 1310 The Ticket. Orphanage will be missed. Stay hard.
You don’t just end a show like this with such a cult-ish following…? Personally, I scheduled my to-do crap during the show, it was the perfect “Fuck it” companion as I’d mow or clean the kids’ crap up.
Idk, that suspension may have played a part. Cumulus may have decided their travel ban was putting enough of a dent in revenue they pulled the plug…? In addition, I wonder if they lost clients from, for instance, the No God Talk. Total guess, just going with my experience with the company. We have to remind ourselves it’s corporate radio, local, underground edge show is going to lead to friction, corporation always wins.
LLAP, Orphanage.
This show has been my Sat morning companion for years whether i was sitting around the house, running errands or having to go to work on Sat morning. i loved listening on St Patty’s weekend .These boys made me try out tv shows , movies and new music that i normally wouldn’t try. End of a era…..Touching Off Mic Tribute ………….Stay Hard Rant/Orphanage
