Over the previous weekend, the sorry P1’s tipped off Gordon Keith about the fact that Hollywood Mike Rhyner had made an appearance on the show Deep Ellum Nights. As it turns out The Hammer was trying to get off the sick and Gordo was filling in for him on The Hardline that week, so he and Followill took a segment to grill Rhyner about the fact that he hadn’t disclosed it. It being the age before youtube and a lot of the internet that we take for granted, we hadn’t yet gotten the audio from the Wolf’s time on the TV by the time this happened.
This segment features a lot of the things that made The Ticket so great back then. Gordo cohosting and doing off the cuff Fake Greggo, a string of Greggo drops, Mark Followill helping out. It used to be awesome when one of the Hardline was out for the day and Gordo would take his place and sports would get shoved aside and gold would burst out of my speakers left and right.
Great audio, but why does everyone sound like they’re in their teens?
Also, Greggo being sick, which turned into a running gag, which turned into…well, you know.
Uhh what whit woud woud!!
fixed the audio
thankx for rolling tape brother
It’s funny how media has changed so much since this aired…
The guys waiting for the tape to arrive in the mail (instead of seeing the video online almost instantly)
P1’s having to call in the next day to report spying Rhynes (instead of emailing/tweeting the news that night)
And best of all, this Hardline clip was Corby & Danny-free!
