A little update regarding closing or selling the site.
Bob dropped a bombshell today during BaD Radio’s 3000th show. He’ll be missing somewhere between 4-6 weeks as of August 29th, and P1’s will have to do without his sports commentary, his blogging and his tweeting.
Why?
Roughly two and a half years ago, during one of their annual missions to an orphanage in Guatemala, Bob and his wife Sally decided that they wanted to improve the life of an orphan. After wading through Guatemalan bureaucracy, they started the process of adopting a young Honduran orphan who is now five years of age. The entire Sturm family will be traveling to meet their newest addition and sort out his US immigration.
Congratulations to you and your family, Bug. Get in touch with us if you need your (Un)Ticket fix while you’re down there, and best of luck with your new little guy.
PS – Hey BDH – you adopted a Mike Vick victim dog? Well, Bob just out-did you. Your move!
[Update 08/22/2011 – 08/23/2011] – The great Mark Followill mentioned that he’ll be filling in for the Sturminator for at least a few episodes. So we’ve got that going for us.
Heard the story in the car today. It was a great story and to hear how the BaD radio team took what he was saying seriously. May this new child bless the Strum family.
Rules.
How many kids does he currently have? Sounded like 2.
Good luck Sports Sturm! You are a hero!
Sturm’s already got two kids – Brett (after Hull and Favre), 5, and Maddy, a few years older I think.
Odds that this baby will be named Dirk Aaron Rodgers Sturm: 2-1.
Good for him and good for The Ticket giving him the time his family needs. Nothing, including sports talk, is as important as what they are doing.
Clearly he’s doing this to gain knowledge of the Honduran Soccer league…….congrats to the Sturm Family, seems like a real good guy!!
Finally listened and I think it’s really cool. Congrats Sturms! Can’t wait to hear super overjoyed Sturm when you get back.
[…] you didn’t hear the news, Bob Sturm is leaving the ticket….for 4-6 weeks. We’re all taking this pretty hard, but P1 Brad C (a frequent […]
The kid must show great potential as a five tool player.
Congrats Bob!
Congrats Bob! He must have amazing potential as a 5 tool outfielder.
